Gender and Freedom of Religion or Belief
Course Description
This course will address the nexus between religion and gender to understand how religions are gendered and the consequences of that on gender equality in society, with special reference to Sri Lanka. At the end of the course, students will be able to: Describe how religion impacts gender in societies, critically examine the reproduction of gender norms and its consequences on social equity, apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom to minimize gendered conflicts in society.
